CREATIVE STATEMENT
Although I’ve always worked in the design industry, my love of pattern began more recently when I discovered that I could combine my illustration and graphic design skills to create art in repeat. As an illustrator that specialises in surface pattern design, I combine analog techniques using ink and coloured pencil, which are then finished digitally to create bright, colourful patterns full of whimsy and texture. What I love most about designing patterns, is imagining them being applied to all sorts of products and eventually ending up in someone’s home, to be seen and used every day.

What industry do you most enjoy creating patterns for?
I love creating patterns for home decor and textiles.
Where do you find inspiration?
Vintage objects, things from my childhood, anything that has a quirky shape, or interesting pattern and colors, especially plants and animals.
What would be your dream pattern job?
Seeing my patterns on Anthropologie kitchen textiles and homewares would be a dream, and I’d love to work with a fabric company and see my patterns come to life on made goods. I started my design career in fashion so it would be wonderful to design fabric that someone else will create with.
