CREATIVE STATEMENT
As an illustrator who specializes in technical subjects, I am constantly exposed to new ideas. Understanding each novel technology, design, or process enough to visualize it accurately is a challenge I enjoy. I strive to make these images as pleasing and interesting as I can. After years of fine art teachers begging me to “loosen up,” I’m thankful I have a healthy outlet for my obsessive tendencies.

What has been your most rewarding commission?
It's quite fulfilling when I get to collaborate with my kids on something. They don't need my help very often, but it’s so nice to be a part of the incredible things they make.
What weird fact have you learned from a commission?
There may be many more free-floating "rogue" planets in the universe than planets that orbit stars.
What is the oddest thing you’ve ever had to draw?
There have been some naughty ones, but let's go with the infographic of all the animals we've launched into space. It's a lot.
