CREATIVE STATEMENT
Hello, I'm Carolina. I'm a surface designer and illustrator originally from Brazil, but I've been based in the UK since 2010. My interest in surface pattern design started seven years ago, when I had my first child and was instantly smitten by all the adorable patterns in baby clothes. At the time, I was working as a graphic designer but I started taking courses in pattern design and slowly but surely have transitioned into a career in surface design, which is a total dream come true! I love helping my clients bring their creative vision to life and I especially love designing for the baby and children's market. As a mum of three young kids, I'm totally immersed in that world and it's a privilege to help create products that delight little people and their grown-ups.

What industry do you most enjoy creating patterns for?
I love creating patterns for baby and kids clothes and products. I'm a mum of three young children and they are a great inspiration for my work.
Where do you find inspiration?
My children, influences from Brazil, Pinterest, Instagram, museums, visiting physical and online stores, books, design blogs, trend analysis...I always have my eyes and ears open and like to take inspiration from many different sources and make them my own.
What would be your dream pattern job?
I'd love to collaborate with John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, and Boden, as I love their baby and kids clothes and shop with them for my own children.
