Q&A
What was your favorite storybook as a child?
As a child, one of my favorite storybooks was The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. A bitter-sweet story, but the tree's generosity warmed my heart, even as a young child.
Which authors do you admire most?
Roald Dahl and William Steig are two of my favourite children’s authors. They both have a way of creating whimsical universes full of quirky and hilarious characters that are incredibly unique.
What characteristic really brings a children’s book to life?
One of my favorite parts of illustrating children’s books is layering silly, playful, humorous details into my work. The best children’s books are read repeatedly, and these thoughtful little details make it so there is something new to discover every time!
