CREATIVE STATEMENT

My interest in floral illustration began after college. I spent a few years in graphic design before becoming a freelance illustrator. Over time, I developed my expertise through various projects, creating hand-painted illustrations for books, packaging, tableware, and wall art. As an illustrator specializing in botanical illustration, I nurture this focus by exploring nature on wildflower hikes and keeping a plant sketchbook. What I love most about botanical art is combining scientific accuracy with my unique style, using the fluid beauty of watercolor.

Q&A

Which flower do you draw the most?
I'm fascinated by wildflowers, especially California poppies, and I hope one day I get to visit a superbloom in California, it's such a special natural event.

What grows in your garden?
I keep childhood memories of our family garden close to my heart—daylilies, roses, and medicinal herbs for teas. It’s where I first connected with plants and found inspiration that still shapes my art.

What do flowers symbolize to you?
To me, flowers symbolize the nurturing power of nature, serving as a reminder of its ability to renew, heal, and bring beauty to our lives.
