CREATIVE STATEMENT
The winter holiday subject is one of my favorites to illustrate. I love the opportunity to channel my own nostalgic feelings about this time of year into the images I create. Part of what I find most inspiring is incorporating the beauty of the winter season. I live in the Northeast and find the light and textures of winter to be a rich yet subtle element to bring into my work. As an illustrator who specializes in winter holiday imagery I find the way for me to continually nurture my work and skills is to really take the time to connect with my own feelings and observations of the season. An illustration is successful when, once done, I can see those feelings reflected in the work.

What is your favorite holiday dish?
My favorite holiday dish is gingerbread cookies! I look forward to making them every year. I love them dunked in my morning coffee.
Which book do you recommend for holiday reading?
It’s hard to pick one favorite holiday film. I really have three, Emmett Otter’s Jug Band Christmas, Muppet Family Christmas, and The Muppet’s Christmas Carol.
What is your go-to gift for the host of a holiday party?
My go-to gift for a host is a pack of my greeting cards, a hand made ornament or a sweet little plant.
