CREATIVE STATEMENT
I have a background in fine arts and although my training was very traditional my work was always illustrative, I wanted my work to tell a story. Over the years and especially after becoming a parent I was drawn more and more to picturebook illustration. I’ve spent years perfecting my portfolio and I especially love to create animal characters and explore themes of nature. I am constantly drawing and working to develop my style and visual communication. Inspiring children to dream, have curiosity and truly see the beauty in the world around them, is always my goal as an illustrator.

What was your favorite storybook as a child?
My favorite story book as a child was a toss up between The Enormous Crocodile and The Little Island.
Which authors do you admire most?
I most admire Margaret Wise Brown, The Fan Brothers and Sophie Blackall.
What characteristics really bring a children’s book to life?
I think what really brings a children’s book to life is a story and illustrations that are grounded in reality and at the same time open the door to dreaming and imagination.
