CREATIVE STATEMENT
What I love most about portraiture is capturing a subject’s likeness and bringing their story to life through expression, action, setting, or all three. My style is bold, painterly, colorful, layered and expressive to tell a rich story. I keep my portraiture illustration sharp with daily sketching and lots of figure drawing practice.

Which of your portraits is a personal favorite?
I love illustrating, brave, creative women. Deb Haaland and Rachel Carson are some personal favorites.
What is the most important feature to capture?
For me it is important to spend time researching each subject in order to capture a bit of their essence, their work, and personality as well as their likeness.
What would your dream project be?
It would be a dream to illustrate portraits of female adventurers/explorers for editorial or a book.
