CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in hand lettering began when I designed signs for my parents’ ice cream shop. I converted my interest into a career. I learned to cut and apply vinyl letters. I managed an in-house sign shop where I designed banners, signs and graphics for biannual trade shows. Later I became a member of a lettering team at a greeting card company. I crafted lettering designs and created a proprietary typeface.

What is your favorite letter in the alphabet?
My favorite letters to draw are B, D, and S. Their proportions can be exaggerated and decorated with flourishes.
What is your favorite quote?
One of my favorite quotes is “Freedom lies in being bold” attributed to Robert Frost.
What writing tool do you use?
My favorite tools are pointed pens and ink, monoline pens from Muji, and Apple Pencil.
